"Ha! I have found it far easier to simply not tell them about it. If anyone asks, I'm simply Captain Conada of the Twin Adders," she winks. "Have you not met the others that arrived at the same time as I? I believe there was at least one other with me, and another I've met while I was being oriented."
Pinya raises her glass when Mira tells her she's from Ishgard.
"To the Snowy City," she smiles. "It's been interesting around there as of late, with the Restoration. It's fun, too, to be able to lend my aid in crafting duds and not being recognised."
"...there were at least six who arrived with me and you're the first I have met who have arrived recently.' Mira admits but her face brightens when she hears about the restoration and working of the Firmament.
"Aye, I agree. How could I not participate when my homeland needed it? 'Twas a sight to see many working together to rebuild what was lost. Highborn and low, dragon and man creating something from so long of destruction. I couldn't be more proud...but draw the line at trying to play the piano." she adds that part with a chuckle.
"I'm no musician and unfit to do it justice so I found someone else."
Pinya splutters, trying desperately not to get any of her drink over the counter.
"SIX?!"
There's????? How????
"There's at least eight of us here? How are there so many of us?" The rest of Mira's conversation almost passes her by completely, wrapped up as much as she is in this revelation. She'd known that there was others... but for there to be so many...
"I... Did I get the piano playing ability out of all of us?"
[Did she hear that right? A Compliment? From Emet-Selch?
She's noting this down in her mental notebook.
...
She hates the fact that her first thought was that just that made the usage of Manna worth it.
She dismisses the thought and makes the :3 face smirks instead.]
I've always been a good storyteller, you just haven't bothered to listen so closely before.
There's a lot I missed in the story, but that was the gist of things. The Arcana would treat us as their playthings, recreating our bodies and memories over and over again.
Though some of the changes were admittedly fun, others were... not.
[She grimaces, remembering that time she had to re-learn to walk on four legs.]
I don't remember you saying much of anything before.
[ Maybe a few things here and there, some dialog options for flavor, but by and large the warrior of light has seemed like the silent type.
While he doesn't care much about swapping bodies--and she'd soon learn this place changed bodies around to its whims too--he frowns a little at the idea of recreating memories, for what should be obvious reasons at this point. ]
[She cocks an eyebrow. In her mind Pinya wonders if he can only remember things that she said that were similar to what the others said at the time.
Which, given how different she and Chono were already... She could imagine it being slim pickings. A thought for another time, perhaps.]
Indeed. Not to mention the times I was thankfully myself, but something altered my memories anyway.
[Thanks, Memetics! Wait a moment... ]
I don't suppose you've seen a direwolf around? I haven't been able to sense him about, so I figure he's still in Questing country, but I figure I'd ask.
Pinya moves easily with Chono's shifting, falling further into her embrace.
"It's perfect, thank you, Chono," she says with a smile. She honestly feels that she could stay like this for hours. She's always loved being physical, whether it be romantic or platonic. It's just so warm.
"It's been a while since I've been able to stop by and see my family too. I know that as soon as I do, I'd get about an hour into reunion fun and then I'd be given the family taxes to file," she laughs. Family, right?
[She's so close to breaking out into laughter, but instead she hides a quiet chuckle behind her hand.]
Mhmm, I've been taken before. Met others from different realities before. I saw Aymeric once, and he had absolutely no memory of me... nor his lover in my reality.
[It had been heart-breaking to watch her best friend look upon the man she so loved and for him to not recognize her at all. Harder still to see her cry in their rooms, after.
Though she still holds out hope that perhaps one of them will know her, she knows that it isn't likely to happen. She hasn't thought much about it since that time, that perhaps there are so many versions of her, the Warrior of Light, because there are so many fractures in-between shards. With entities like the Arcana, and now these Gem-Gods existing, perhaps it's more likely than she first thought. She doesn't know what to think about that.]
So I fear I have the smallest of upper hands; though it isn't much, in the grand scheme of things.
[ He has to pause to actually remember it, he's not up with Eorzean politics. Plus he's only seen him once through the Warrior of Light's eyes, so it's hard to paint a solid picture... Needless to say, the man did not have any known lovers in his world, but Ardbert wouldn't know the first thing about Aymeric's personal life regardless. ]
This manner with which you were taken before... was it like this? [ Moreover... ] Were you alright? The madness here seems more than enough for me. To have gone through this before... it boggles the mind.
[Her smile turns sad when he asks her if she was alright. How to even say?]
It wasn't like this, no. It was like. I remember that I was in my office, I'd opened the door to leave and then I was- [Something wistful appears on her face, remembering her very first Liminal Space Experience.]
It was a good thing I noticed that there wasn't any floor underneath me. There was only clouds and giant 'paper airplanes' that soared in the sky. I had no idea where I was, and the door behind me had disappeared. Heh. In that place, reality didn't matter; it was simply bent to the whims of the Arcana.
I'm alright now, if that's what you're asking. But I wasn't. Not for a long time. I can tell you more about it, but not here. Somewhere with a comfortable sitting place, maybe some food?
"Hmmn? Didn't fancy listening to our host's explanation? I'm afraid I don't know much more than what they've told us, not without doing any of my own research."
Which is something that she's absolutely going to be doing... Just not quite yet.
[She looks at the shooter and raises a brow. There's a part of her that wants to show off, but instant bragging does not make an interesting match make.]
I feel like trying to go up against me in a shooter might be a bit unfair, so the fighter probably works for us!
[ He likes fighting games anyway, so he's not complaining. But he finds the humble brag pretty entertaining all the same. He slips a few tokens into the machine and it booms to life announcing that challengers have appeared (!) The border around the character selection flashes between bright green and bright blue. ]
I don't know any of these characters, it'll be fun.
[ His smile does show that he has a competitive streak, but his tone of voice is very easy going. ]
[Well she's not going to lie! There's a confident, almost smug look on her face. She looks at the clash of neon colours and scantily clad characters to choose from, having absolutely zero idea who they are.]
Me neither! All I know is push buttons and don't die.
[She hasn't ever played a game like this, but her Overlays have. Maybe she can remember how to do it and not lose horribly. She picks a character that looks like he could take a couple of hits, because it's going to take her a couple of rounds just to orient herself.]
I think everyone picks who looks a little cute to them the first time.
[ So what does it say about Daigo if he picks a fighter that is pretty conventionally bipedal and male. That he has a thing for protags and guys, probably. ]
Alright, let's do it.
[ He slaps his select button. When his opponent is also ready there's another round of flashing colors, loading in the two virtual fighters and their arena. Everyone will get a moment to establish what each button does, but then it's time to mash them. ]
[She has to admit that the banter flows easily with this gentleman, and it keeps their trek far more interesting than it would have been alone.]
Don't you worry, even should we loose any, I'm sure I could gather enough Aether to glue one or two back together!
[She actually has no idea if she could, but if Dorian ends up injured in any sense, she's going to use her own reserves to fix that.
It's not as slow going as her travllening partner might expect. Though her legs are far shorter, there's a swiftness to her that speaks of being around the taller races for all her life. The snow's annoying, but for all her trekking around Coerthas, this is familiar. Though she can't deny she would have wanted more than the slim fitting leathers she's currently wearing.]
Pinya laughs as Edwin nearly falls over, reaching out to steady him with a hand on his shoulder from her position on the stool.
"Careful now, Oh elegant dancer! Don't want you messing up that pretty face of yours," she grins.
"And not quite. I'm getting the basic idea. We've been claimed by gods, which, that's getting tiring in and of itself," she sighs, "And then... there's a bad god, ooooh, twist! But that's about it. They might want us to fight it? They might want us to protect them? I have no idea."
She takes another big bite of her hashbrown, washing it down with a swig of the beer next to her. She isn't cold sober, but she isn't nearly as far gone as Edwin. She kind of feels like she needs to catch up.
"So, what's the last thing you remember before getting here?"
Overflow for Mira \o/
Pinya raises her glass when Mira tells her she's from Ishgard.

They've only been here a moon, there's not much info out right now other than gods can cause a lot of chaos.

That's alright by me, It'd do nicely paired with some mint and white rum!
